What's new for 1982: Outside there was a new grille design. Cruise control, tilt steering wheel and rear disc brakes became standard and a new driver's memory seat became available. Automatic transmission now featured 4-speeds for improved economy. Dash was revised to accommodate a new family of electronically tuned Delco radios with digital clock. Aluminum wheels, and the sporty XSC package were no longer offered. |

Identifying an '82: 1982 and 1983 Toronados shared the same grille design consisting of five horizontal slots (up from three in '80-'81) running the cars width below the headlamps. The '82, however, didn't have the Toronado "T" crest found in the center of the header panel like the '83 did, and the TORONADO nameplate was on the grille itself in '83, instead of above it in 1982. |
